Florence Pugh Swaps Her Long Blonde Hair For Something Entirely Different

It is unequivocally the year (even more so, the season) of the short hairstyle. From bobs to pixie cuts, you name the dramatic chop, we’re getting it. Florence Pugh is the latest famous face to take the plunge: she unveiled a fresh new look on Instagram over the Halloween weekend.

“I did a thing…” she wrote, accompanied by the hashtag “#chopchopchop,” on October 31. Pugh’s hair – which appears wet and freshly chopped in the photos – is now an androgynous mullet-meets-pixie cut, and it has amassed over two million likes so far. Boyish and disheveled with a deep side-part and face-framing layers, the Little Women and Black Widow star’s new hairstyle is paired in the picture with a knitted bralette embroidered with her name.

It’s not just the cut that’s different. Pugh has been slowly growing out her California-blonde hair over the past few months, and it’s now a rich, chocolatey brown color — very similar to Hailey Bieber, who also went to the dark side recently with a cocoa-colored hair look. Said to be for her new role as Allison in A Good Person (a drama film in which she’s being directed by her boyfriend, Scrubs alum Zach Braff), the new look attracted a flood of compliments online.

Ariana Grande said she was “crying” due to Florence’s “stunning” look, and Hailee Steinfeld, Joey King. and Gemma Chan were all very much there for it. too. Not to mention The Rock, who wrote: “Love it sistah! Next chop you’ll look like me.” High praise indeed.
