Dua Lipa Is Wearing the Alien Green Chrome Manicure of My Dreams
Dua Lipa‘s got an edge to her — that much is apparent when you consider both her music and her personal style. The singer’s known to experiment a lot with her beauty looks, and how she makes each one work for her is what we adore above all. From the sharp blunt bob that she’s since elongated to fluffy waves, to the blonde-and-black two-toned hair captured on her Future Nostalgia album cover, Lipa’s a budding beauty icon in her own right, so you know we’ve got our eyes on her.
And what beauty treasure did our little peepers spot on the singer’s Instagram grid? Oh, just a super cool set of metallic green nails that has us fixing for a trip to the beauty supply shop. To kick off her highly-anticipated Future Nostalgia tour on its first night (February 8), Lipa posted an epic photo dump that shows her sunbathing in a bikini, sharing delicious, carboohydrate-rich meals with friends, and posing in a super cute crop top designed in the shape of a flower. Yes, in the midst of all that, we zoomed in on the manicure because we’re beauty nerds and that’s just what we do.
We first noticed the verdant mani in a poolside photo Lipa posted showing off her bikini. Fortunately, the singer provided us with a closer look at her nails as you swipe through. The second-to-last image shows Lipa and a friend toasting with martini glasses. In the image, you can see that the bright green hue is super chromey, kind of like an alien’s skin.
We’re definitely hoping to see more green manis overall this summer, but we’ve gotta say Lipa did the dang thing with this metallic set. It’s shiny, it’s futuristic, and best of all, it’s not terribly fussy. Sure, it’s bold, but it’s super straightforward in all its gleaming goodness. This is a manicure you can achieve whether you are partial to gels, acrylics, or just some regular degular lacquer. And it’s a good reminder that your manicurist doesn’t actually have to do the most in order for your nails to grab some attention. Heck, with the right color nail polish (and a steady hand) you could probably recreate this look yourself.
